Saline tattoo lightening is performed very similarly to how the initial tattoo was preformed, by using the special formulated Saline solution that is applied to the skin using a Tattoo machine. As we go over your old tattoo, the solution bonds to the pigment and helps to push it out of the skin through osmosis. Healing is very similar to the healing of the tattoo, however, the solution continues to work on breaking down the pigment and pushes it to the surface via Osmosis. The pigment heals into the scab and as the scab sheds so does the pigment, revealing a lightened tattoo.
If you have just had your brows done elsewhere, within the last 48 hours, and are very unhappy with the results then contact us immediately as we can preform emergency removal. It is preferred to have it done within 24 hours of the procedure to obtain the best results possible. Emergency "removal" will not guarantee that no pigment will heal into the skin but it will lighten it considerably while making it much easier for future saline tattoo lightening sessions. Please contact me immediately in order to accommodate an emergency.

It’s critical to keep your body and skin in optimal health starting from the very first session. These steps will help you to kickstart the healing process immediately after leaving the studio.

What affects the number of sessions needed? For either procedure, it first depends on your goal. If you want to remove the tattoo completely, the number of sessions will probably be substantially higher. For example, complete removal might take 8 saline tattoo lightening sessions as opposed to 3 or 6 for partial fading. The exact number will depend on how your body responds to the treatment.
The number of sessions needed also depends on the color of the ink being removed. As mentioned, darker shades often take longer than lighter ones.
Saline lightening does not cause hypo or hyperpigmentation on certain skin types, but scarring does pose a risk. Infection also poses a concern, since you’re dealing with an open wound. Keeping the area clean and following aftercare guidelines exactly is crucial.
The day of your treatment: The area feels tender and might feel like it’s been burned. It may look very red and swollen.
First several days: The area will scab over.
One week later: The area remains scabbed over.
Two weeks later: The scab has probably fallen off. The skin still looks pink or discolored and appears fragile, as it’s still healing.
One month later: The skin is looking more normal by now.
Two months later: The area has completely healed (hopefully!) and is ready for the next session.
Follow the guidelines of your lightening specialist exactly to speed the recovery process. Standard saline tattoo lightening aftercare guidelines include the following:
Depending on Pigment depth, brand, how much is left and the clients skin. If you have had your brows attempted to be camouflaged, applying skin colored pigment over the brows to cover it up, more sessions will be required. That is because not only did the camouflage color add an additional layer of pigment to the brow to cover it up but it is also a much harder pigment to remove as it has white in it. White is the largest pigment molecule making it harder to leave the body.
